I used to like riding this road just for the view, the surface originally was a bit bumpy in parts however at some point is was resurfaced and if you have ridden up to Maleny then seems a obvious choice for different route on the way back.

You can locate this road on the map, expand to see the list.

These ‘good road’ posts were published 2006-2008. At some point the original images and descriptions became out of date and I moved overseas. I archived them here to update when I ride Australia again. This collection is just my own personal riding records, not a definitive list.

    1. recently resurfaced.
      Tops ride 😀

    2. I have an idea, before riding to these areas check to see how many riders are injured and killed on these roads. April 11 2010 a man has been killed on this section of the road. Unfortunately, unsuprising to locals.

    3. Perhaps you should find something in your unhappy world to be positive about rather than coming here hateful at something you choose not to understand.

    4. When I read comments like "Anonymous" it's like death coming out them. Horrible spirit and mentality. They are everywhere in motorcycle forums too. This blog is so pleasant to visit, these death talks can stay out.

    5. I am a local rider living 15 minutes from Peachester. The incident anonymous speaks of was the death of a rider who was also a local, just unlucky. These roads are brilliant to ride on and if comonsence is used within the peramiters of have a shit load of fun. Ride on guys and girls.

    6. Hey IC, just a notice for you and your readers. The really good bit at Peachester currently has one complete lane closed which seems to be flood damage. There are lights there right in the middle of it now managing the traffic which backs up now. It completely bummed me out after I went up to Kenilworth today and went via Peachester and Maleny looking forward to the Peachester bit especially. Oh well, hopefully it will be all fixed son enough.

P.S. Great site! This is my bible for finding rides in the area 🙂 Keep up the good work!

    7. Great road, ride every weekend. To anonymous, people die on roads everywhere, usually because of stupid drivers. The guy who died at peachester died doing what he loved and also did peachester every weekend. We all know the risks and that is part of riding. We live to ride. Take your sad life and find other websites to leave your dogooding comments on.

    8. Lovin the blog!

    10. On your advice I just went for a ride from mapleton down bald knob road. Brilliant ride. Thank-you so much for your blog.
